Monoblock

Detailed hydrological analysis and hydraulic assessment of Ohlanga river around the N2 and N4 road crossings. The influence of the floods on a sewer pump station on the river bank was determined and flood mitigation options analysed.

Watson Consulting Engineers

Detailed hydrological analysis and hydraulic assessment of Florida Lake in Roodepoort. The hydrological and hydraulic assessments conducted for the Florida Lake in Roodepoort provide a comprehensive evaluation of the existing drainage structures and their capacity to manage flood events. The analysis reveals critical insights into the performance of these structures under varying flood conditions, particularly at key locations such as the Albertina Sisulu Road and Main Reef Road culvert systems, and the Florida Lake outflow weir

DRA Global

The Kamoa-Kakula Mining Complex located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a copper mine that has become one of the largest and highest-grade copper deposits in the world. It is operated by Ivanhoe Mines Ltd and its partners. This project involved the evaluation and assessment of the constructed Water Reticulation network for Phase 1 of the Kamoa Copper mine.

Kabe Consulting Engineers

Detailed hydrological analysis and hydraulic assessment of the major culverts and lesser culverts along the D3671 between Maranikhwe and Musekwa. This entailed the determining of the design floods for each structure as well as the compilation of a numerical model to analyses the 17 drainage structures in detail.

Ndodana Consulting Engineers

Detailed hydrological analysis and hydraulic assessment of bridges and major culverts along the R396/6 between Maclear and the N2. This project entailed the estimation of the design floods and hydraulic assessments of 6 bridges, 11 major culverts and 269 lesser culverts along section 6 of the R396.

Ceenex

Third-Party Assessment – Mathysens Booster Pump Station. GHI was commissioned to conduct an independent assessment aimed to identify potential causes of underperformance and included a review of available documentation, numerical modelling, pump selection evaluation, field testing, and compilation of an assessment report.

LTM Energy

GHI assisted LTM Energy in obtaining water use licenses at a number of Department of Water and Sanitation Infrastructure sites to utilize the ecological reserve and/or irrigation releases to generate hydropower at these locations. Feasible hydropower projects are now being developed at these sites making use of the existing infrastructure.

ECA Consulting Engineers

GHI conducted a hydrological analysis and hydraulic assessment of the Little Tugela River in Winterton to evaluate the positioning of a new Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW). This analysis took into account the influence of the various bridge structures to obtain the most viable location for the WWTW.

Bigen Consulting Engineers

The Klapmuts Distell Gravity Pressure Main was analysed by evaluating the hydraulic characteristics as well as conducting a dynamic assessment. The pipeline was reviewed and the necessary valves (isolating, scour and air) selected to ensure a functioning system.

CSL Consulting Engineers

The Bungeni pumping system was designed by evaluating the hydraulic characteristics as well as conducting a dynamic assessment. The pipeline class, size, route and profile was reviewed and the necessary valves (isolating, scour, air and flow control valves) selected to ensure a functioning system. Pumps were selected that would be capable of delivering the 5.06 ML daily requirement.

Impala Water Users Association

Green Hippo Innovations conducted a review of the hydropower opportunities at Bivane Dam in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The potential hydropower that could be generated utilising the ecological reserve flow and irrigation releases of the dam provides a viable opportunity to generate renewable energy to the benefit of the Impala WUA.
